China Cabinet Makeover

I wanted to brighten our china cabinet without painting it.  Something this big and dark has the same effect on a room.  The wood is of good quality so painting it is not an option; perhaps something could be done to the inside.

I decided to line the back of the cabinet with wallpaper.  Taking careful measurements and lining the cabinet took about an hour.

Was it worth it?

Now for pictures and window treatments....

  1. I think it is very pretty and I LOVE your china! Nice work - I'm having the same dilemna in my dining room. No windows, so it is a very dark room with dark brown furniture. I'd love to try something like this!

  3. Great transformation at little cost and without harming a beautiful antique... I did exactly the same thing to a cabinet of mine around the same time - funny.
Love all your wreaths, by the way, and will try and show up for the wreath party tomorrow ;-)
