Now let's enter the world of plates. Better yet, let's enter the world of plates and spray paint. Yesterday I painted a stack of plates that I picked up from the Goodwill store and had actually forgotten about until I read this post. Thanks Trish.
Of course we all know the cardinal rule, never run out of white spray paint. Impulsive projects, you know. I can honestly say that if I ever walk into another thrift store, that I can look squarely at a stack of plates and say.........I'm good. No really, none for me, thanks. I will not tweak this wall anymore, ever again.

I was actually doing some blog hopping when I found your blog via a comment you left somewhere and decided to pay a visit.
well, no disappointment here and certainly this will be the first of many other visits yet to come!!
Love your plates. I do to love hanging plates. I have some antique plates on my sitting room walls as well as quite a number of red transferware ones. Always thinking of increasing the number but the fear of overdoing is most of the time refraining me.
With the above being said, I'm now off to get my small ladder, nails and hammer and hang my last red treasure from last weekend's flea.

ReplyDeleteI don't know why I didn't "discover" plates before the past year or so. Their wonderful versatility. Their common yet elegant beauty on a wall. And now on my fence! I didn't think of painting them! Great idea! Now I will never look at another stack of plates and think: uh, wrong color.

ReplyDeleteOk, this is beautiful! I was inspired by you spray painting plates and tried it for a wall project. I had two plates that needed to be white so out came the spray primer and paint. It came out bumpy, not the smooth finish I was after...did you use primer?

I did not use primer. I used the white spray paint that I had on hand. I caution you not to do this in a windy day or you will end up with debris in your paint.
