Informed

One day last summer, I stopped reading the newspaper and started reading blogs.  Through blog reading I discovered Houzz.  Between the two, I stay very informed.  Mr. and I spend the early morning hours in the office, he in his recliner with his newspaper and me on the computer, both with a cup of coffee in hand.

A typical morning sounds like this...

Stonebreaker Builders & Remodelers traditional bathroom
Me: Look at this black and white bathroom.  Remember when we painted stripes?  I think it would have looked better if the stripes were wider like this.
Mr.: Someone else was hit by a train.  How does this happen?  Do they not hear the train coming?

Me: We could add pre-made cabinets in our dining room and add finish molding to get this custom look.
Mr.:  Look, here is a picture of the oil spill from space.

Me:  I love everything about this room.
Mr.:  If I had known Germany was playing yesterday, I would have recorded the game.
    Mt. Baker traditional kitchen

Me:  Isn't this faucet nice?  We should have chosen this instead of ours.
Mr.: They are trying to rezone our neighborhood.

Me:  What if we add molding to the top of our cabinets like this?
Mr.:  That would be easy to do.  Here is an article on the pros and cons of running barefoot.

    Me:  or like this.
Mr.:  There is a chance of rain this week.

    1. ROTFLOL! They say communication is the key to a successful marriage . . . :-)

This sounds an awful lot like the conversations that go on in our house, except that, with my husband being a computer geek, he tends to go on about the minutiae of a technical problem, which, I translate in broad strokes as either it wasn't a good thing, or it worked . . .

    2. Rene, such a cute post. I think that is how some of our conversations go too. Have a great day.

    6. this made me chuckle how spot on it was, especially with the oil spill. my boyfriend discovered a live webcam of it, and he continues to watch the goings on there while i read blogs.

    12. Very funny. So, depending on whether you were actually listening to each other, you've learned not to run barefoot, especially in front of trains, that your husband likes Germany and is amenable to small structural changes but doesn't want your neighborhood to change, and that choosing the wrong faucet probably isn't as tragic as an oil spill that can be seen from space.
Love the pics too, Rene. I forget to visit Houzz so thanks for the reminder.
      Happy Monday to you!
