Mix Art + Interiors
As much as I have been digging all shades of blue and green lately, red is beginning to look new to me again. Red rugs seem to add a little "bam" to a space, especially striped ones - something I can't seem to get enough of.

Does the zebra ottoman look familiar? The makeover will be complete soon.
Now it's your turn. How are you feeling about red these days? Do you miss it, or did you never say good-bye?

I really like red. I actually had red in my living room for a long time and just wanted something a little lighter. I do miss it, and I am trying to find a way to incorporate in my bedroom along with the blues for winter. We will see! I love the red rug in the first pic!
ReplyDeleteYou know I love red. It is throughout my house.
ReplyDeleteI like the mix, and the extra punch of color.
ReplyDeleteI like red, but I really prefer my indoor spaces to be more peaceful. That being said, my front porch is full of red, and I always bring it out during holidays!
ReplyDeleteI adore stripes, though!
Oh, and I guess Adam's room is red, and I have red accents in my dining room, so maybe I have more than I thought! lol
ReplyDeleteMust be the asian influence in your design asthetic:)
ReplyDeleteI have been into the tomatoey red color...have been thinking of painting a chandelier the orangy red in my dining room. I think now it is more of a small dose thing instead of ENTIRE rooms in red.

~*~I am with you on the red! I strayed away from it a few years back and went for an all pink and white shabby chic decor and now am regretting all the lovely red treasures I got rid of! lol..Im now redoing my decor and red is the main accent color in my pillows and rugs etc..Thanks for sharing~*~*Rachel
ReplyDeleteLove that second photo! I like red but in small doses. And, I adore an orangey-red...think chinoiserie!
ReplyDeleteI love red and have it in many rooms in my home. Not a bright red but a muted red.

I love red! I have it all over my house. In fact, I was just trying to decide if I want to keep the red theme going into my master bath redo. I can't decide!!!
ReplyDeleteI do miss it. I had a red dining room in my old house. While I don't miss the red walls I do think of bringing red back in smaller doses. I have some here and there but I think I need more.
ReplyDeleteI love red. We have lots of accent pieces in a burgundy red throughout our living room. I think red is a great color. I have a friend who has a Ralph Lauren Red wall in her dining room. It looks very striking! Adds some drama to her space.
ReplyDeleteI love red! I have alot of red in my kitchen and as much as I love it, lately I've been really thinking of changing the color scheme to green and white. Hmmmm, not sure???
ReplyDeleteI find it funny how we creative types are only temporarily satisfied...then we are on to something else.
ReplyDeleteOh well, keeps it interesting.

I love red but use it sparingly. I have something red in almost every room, but it's not the primary color anywhere. I love the striped rugs you posted!
ReplyDeleteI adore it (esp. that red in Cath Kidston's home featured in the last Lonny) but not sure if I'm ready for it in my own home (again) yet!
ReplyDeleteI adore red! But you just made me realize that I wear red often but I don't have much of it around my home. Interesting. I have to start rethinking a few things...this could be fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks!!!
Yes! I did a post a while back on red - venturing out to guess that Pantone might choose a red for color of the year in '11. I've never been a fan of red until this year.
ReplyDeleteI think you're in the Richmond area - are you by any chance going to the Symphony showhouse gala 9/10. I'm going w/two girlfriends - we're looking forward to it.
