I especially love the idea of using black for the more sophisticated spooks. To find out how to make this wreath from black crepe paper, go here.
Black bouquet anyone? Go here for the tutorial.
When jack-o-lanterns are black on the outside, the faces seems to glow even brighter.
I also like the idea of using white. For the old Scooby Doo haunted mansion feel, why not add old sheets to the furniture?
White pumpkins seem to be the thing this season and I suppose you could always use spray paint to turn your orange pumpkins white, right?
Good Bones Great Pieces

They used drained highlighters to achieve this look. Very clever.

As of yet, I haven't pulled the Halloween box out of the attic. I know, bad me. Hopefully I can sweet talk Mr. into helping me with some decorations this weekend so that we don't look like the only non-participants on the street. Be sure to stop by Sunday to join the Trick or Treat linky party. It will be your turn to share your Halloween front door and carved jack-o-lanterns. What do the trick-or-treaters see when they come knocking? Is your house spooky or fun?
Or are you hiding inside with the lights out eating all of the snickers bars ;)

ReplyDeleteHalloween is one of my favorite holidays...yet I'm a scaredy cat! I love all of this wonderful inspiration! Sadly, where we live now we don't get trick or treaters, but I still decorate anyway! Now get going on that decorating girl!
ReplyDeleteKat :)
Love the pumpkin used as a drink holder, I want to use that one, maybe next year!
ReplyDeleteLots of great ideas! I love the gold pumpkin with the stenciled house number. I have some white pumpkins on our porch and also dressed up three mannequins to put in the living room windows. Happy Halloween, Rene!
ReplyDeletethe white pumpins that kind of look like jack frm the nightmare before christmas are my fave! i love that idea!
ReplyDeleteI love the front porch on the "Good Bones" picture! I'm envious...I have a small porch and have always liked the covered ones. The candle lights in the pumpkins make it homey!
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas! I especially
ReplyDeletelove the idea of the
sheets over the
furniture....Instantly
transports you to
haunted house time : )!
Same thing with the
masked portrait....
We have a motion-activated
skeleton near the front
door, but we only get a
handful of goblins coming
by. This year my youngest
is 12, so we are watching
scary movies with popcorn
and a big bowl of fun-sized
goodies. Happy Halloween,
Rene!
