The other day I posted an inspiration board for my sun room. I wanted to share what has been done so far.
I started by painting the far wall with paint leftover from our front door. The color is BM Stratton Blue - just a tad darker than Whythe Blue. What I love about it is when you enter the front door, the door color is repeated in another room.
Yesterday I spent much of the day painting the wicker white - it had been black. Now that the sun is shining, I can see that some spots were missed. Looks like I'll be spending much of today painting wicker as well :) Last night Mr. hung the wall lamps for me that were previously in another room and not being used.
Hoping to play up the green cushions I opted for botanicals keeping to a green and white color story. This definitely helped incorporate the green.
I used these inexpensive frames from Micheal's with a coupon and spray painted them white. The botanicals were printed from here.
There is still much work to be done, but the room is beginning to take on the look I was hoping for.

Oooh this is going to be a beauty! Love the wall color!

That color blue is divine!
ReplyDeleteLove the blue - did you spray paint the wicker or brush paint?
ReplyDelete-Trish
I did a little of both Trish, but white going over black is going to take a lot of paint.

Your sunroom is really looking pretty. I really like the wall color and the white wicker is a great compliment to the wall color.
ReplyDeleteI recently painted wicker and it took me forever...it's one of those not so easy chores. Your room is really coming together beautifully.
I too have purchased these frames and in January at Borders, purchased an amazing botanical calander and used those prints. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. I love blue and green and white. Makes me want a sun room
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about the NYPL site you got the botanical pics from - were you able to download them for free or did you have to order them? thanks!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, this site is all free. You click on the image to make it larger, then you copy and paste it in to a word doc. I usually right click on the image to change the size once it is in a word doc.. Then print.
