Monograms come in so many styles and I really like the variety found here. Yesterday, I played around on the computer and came up with a couple of new monograms on paint.net
I really like the way this one turned out. I used navy fabric paint and the font is Times New Roman. To make the dots, I used the letter o in a smaller font.
I have tried to remember which font I used to make this one. It is most similar to Edwardian. To make the outer ring, I followed an idea that was in Woman's' Day, which by the way, has come a long way. The directions recommended using a spray adhesive to secure the doily to the fabric before painting. Woops, forgot that step and you can see a smear or two, but overall, I like the affect the doily pattern gives.
I'm not going to post the steps for using freezer paper again. If you want to see the how to, go here.
Have you done any projects using freezer paper?

Rene, I love the new towels. I have never tried any printing of fonts or freezer paper. I love looking at what others have done, but haven't tried it myself. For some reason it goes right over my stupid head. I hate reading and figuring things out. I just want it done. Plus my copier doesn't always work correctly and it drives me nuts.
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful, they would make beautiful gifts. And no, I have never used Freezer paper...hum, something I need to check out!

ReplyDeleteThese turned out so well. Can you tell me where you got such lovely, simple dish towels? I have some that look similar and are made out of old flour sacks - but I'd love to find similar, new ones too!
ReplyDeleteThanks everybody! I hope you try this easy project. Shannon, they are from Walmart. A pack of 5 for $5, flour sack-like. You can get your freezer paper there too.

I loved your towels when you first posted about them this past spring. They've been on my to-do list since then (see your not the only one who tends to move a little slowly on some projects)
ReplyDeleteRound 2 of your towel makeovers has been wishing had the supplies on hand so I could get started right away.
These look great!!

ReplyDeleteCrazy, just 10 minutes
ReplyDeleteago I was prepping some
squash to roast and as
I was grabbing for spices
I thought, "I need to
invest in one of those
cute magnetic spice racks
that goes on the wall"
only to see the exact one
on YOUR wall : ) !! Love
the monogram idea. I hang
my tea towels on hooks;
I wonder if these come with
hanger on the inside corner?
FUN gift idea, too!
