Susan at
Between Naps on the Porch is hosting a Mom Cave party. Wait, it gets better. There is a chance to win a $250 gift certificate to Home Goods. When I think of my "mom cave" the room that comes to mind is the office.
My youngest son actually calls it the storage room, because at times, it looks more like a storage room than an office. This is where the computer is and also where I read my favorite blogs. While the room has a desk and a computer, it lacks comfortable seating. This room is also adjacent to the kitchen and it would be a nice place to sit while a pot simmers in the kitchen. Close to the kitchen without being in the kitchen. I would love to have seating enough for a few friends or family to join me.

Because this is the mom cave - yes guys this is my room - I want it to have feminine touches. The room needs artwork, a rug, pillows, window treatments, and a desk chair.
Here are some of the goodies that I have found on the Homegoods site posted by customers.
This looks very similar to the chairs in the inspiration photo.
This would make a nice desk chair.
And so would this.
Love the butterflies.
Now pop over to
BNOP to check out the other mom caves.
Your mom cave is great, love the lamps, they are the perfect height.
ReplyDeleteI love this concept and the linky party! It is very interesting to me how mom's are often the only ones in the house without a room specifically for themselves...everyone needs at least a corner to call there own!

Like it, Rene! My mom cave is also the toy storage room and the guest room. Rarely is it in the state that I would like it to be! Off to check out the other mom caves!
ReplyDeleteThe "storage room"--that is too cute. Your inspiration room is gorgeous! And the location of your space in the house sounds just right. I hope you can make it happen!

Rene I want to hang out in your mom cave, because the tiny corner I have claimed as my own is in a bit of disarray at the moment and yours looks so serene and peaceful!

I wish I had a mom cave! I like your little spot that you have. My space is scattered throughout the house depending on what I'm doing (chore wise). It's my kitchen table if I'm cooking or my little one is playing in the living room, my desk downstairs if I'm doing laundry, and if I'm really lucky...my bedroom with the door shut if everyone else is busy...still not a room of my own, but I have wedged out a little spot for me!
ReplyDeleteYour Mom Cave looks wonderful and very comfortable. My space is in a room I'm eventually going to redo but right now everything is just jam packed in here. You may have inspired me to move quickly to fix this room up!
ReplyDeleteLol - love it!
ReplyDelete:)
