I added a pre-lit garland to our banquette and love the festive touch it adds during family dinners. Just to the right is a chalk board with the official Christmas countdown. I love that the boys are just as excited as they were when they were five about Christmas.
I don't know if it is a sign of the economy or what, but everyone is using sticks this year. Truth be told, I have always loved bringing in natural elements from the garden. OK, we get it Rene, you like sticks and greenery, hooray. I stuck these branches into oasis that was placed in the bottom of the pot. To keep everything from flopping around, I balled up newspaper and stuffed it in place then topped it all off with pine cones. Mom and I found boxes full of ornaments at the Re-Store for $1 last weekend. Deal.
As soon as I get a chance, I plan to make stockings with leftover fabric from the ottoman and a remnant I found on clearance last fall. I thought they would look pretty hanging on the mantle this season with the changes we made to our family room.
