1. Kitchen Reveal
Made a few changes to the kitchen and of course more updates followed here and here.
2. Family Room Transformation
Here is where I shared a no budget approach to transforming our family room.
3. Fringed Table Runner
Ya'll were sweet to say so many nice things about my little piece of burlap. (yes, the utensils are on the wrong side. hate me)
5. Staycation
It's kind of nice to see this little haven that we enjoy so in the summer. It is currently sitting under several inches of snow and not a flower in sight.
So there you have it. I have several ideas brewing that I can't wait to get started on in the New Year. Rest assured that as soon as the last ornament hits the attic, I will get back to it. One of them involves drop cloth slip covers. Speaking of drop cloth, it's not too late to link your drop cloth projects here.
I am joining Rhoda and Kim for a best of 2010 re-cap.

Great projects! I love the living room! Mine needs a boost on a tiny budget.

Great projects Rene! I especially love the LR, no budget transformation and the pergola in your back yard (we had one at our old house and it was my favorite place to hang.) Can't wait to see what 2011 brings!

Those are all good projects! Can't wait to see what you have cooked up for us in 2011!!! Never mind laundry, ironing, kids and all that other stuff....don't let it get in the way of what we [your readers] want and need :)
ReplyDeleteyou're right, there is always something to do! your sofa doesn't look like ikea. it looks expensive!maybe it's because you don't have everything in the room from ikea, but a mix and match of things....my favorite way to decorate!
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous, love seeing all your projects, you have been busy! Happy New year!

Fabulous projects! You should be proud. It is great fun to look back & see that we did actually do something this past year. Can't wait to see what you do in 2011. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteseeing all of your projects together shows a real unity in your style. i love it- it's classic and comfy and a little glamorous. i am just sad the black bathroom didn't make the cut- that's a personal fave of mine! and that rosemary sideboard. both awesome, too!
ReplyDeleteThose are all great projects! I just read your family room transformation post and love how you went about getting a new look. Just the sort of thing I do too. When I re-did my living a few years ago I also went with the Ektorp and we love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by to see my 2010 projects!
Manuela
I am glad that i am not the only person who puts the silverware in the wrong place.
ReplyDeleteHaha re; the silverware. I actually had to look up online at Thanksgiving the correct placement since I rarely set the table. Doh! Your home is so lovely and your home and photos are magazine worthy. I've enjoyed your blog this year.
ReplyDeleteHello Rene,
ReplyDeleteI loved all of your projects from last year. I especially liked the kitchen and living rooms projects. I chuckled when I saw the flatware. While I was visiting my parents for TG every evening I typically set the table and deliberately put the flatware in the wrong place. It was different every evening. I did so to torment my mother - I am a BAD daughter! After the first few nights she caught on to what I was doing and quit going behind me to correct it!
~ Tracy
Kayce and Tracy, I am so glad that you shared this. I cook every night and set the table EVERY night (the right way). It's just like me to take a picture to share with the world and have the table set incorrectly. Only the best :)
ReplyDeleteRene, you have such a classy style and so fresh and tasteful. I could move right in your home! You've done a beautiful job with everything. Your outdoor patio is stunning. Gardening is one of my passions so I am drawn to outdoor spaces. I am glad to have met you this year and I look forward to getting to know you better. Happy New Year to you!
ReplyDeleteRene, those are some beautiful projects!! I love everything you do. I hope you have an amazing New Year!!!
ReplyDeleteI just love your kitchen!! And your living room, and your dining room. I love it all! :)
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great week.
Beth.
It's been such a great year! Can't wait to see what 2011 holds! = ) Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteIt was great to have "met" you in 2010! I didn't even notice the utensil placement, how many people commented?! Here's to a wonderful 2011 Rene!
ReplyDeleteJanell
Loving Queen Anne in her black and white stripes, that is a favorite of mine. My porch wears the same stripes in a stool and side curtain, Can't go wrong with stripes, Kathysue
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to go through your favorite posts! I love the updates you've done to your living room. It's amazing what a couple simple changes (and new pillows!) will do to a space.
ReplyDeleteWow! It is amazing the things you have accomplished in a year. You are always so inspiring. I have enjoyed every post! In fact, I made a table runner, with your tutorial, from burlap. Thank you so much for wonderful posts. Another one you didn't mention here is how you painted your floors. They turned out so beautifully. You are so creative and inspiring. Thanks, Rene.
ReplyDeleteI totally understand the piles of paper everywhere, and feeling like nothing is getting done! You seem to get quite a lot done in my opinion!! Thanks for your comments on my blog, now I've discovered yours! It's inspiring to me, being new to blogging, so thank you!! Rosa
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to check out your latest project every morning - you are truly an inspiration! Happy New Year!!
