Apparently I have a critic. Mr. subscribes to my blog and just the other day he said that I haven't been posting any projects lately. So over the weekend I worked on our
son's room making curtains, a duvet cover, and a
monogram lampshade. Hopefully I will have the post ready tomorrow so stay tuned. In the meantime, I did find some fun tutorials for making your own duvet cover. Some of them are older, but stylin' all the same.
I am absolutely in love with that last one! So feminine and pretty! Can't wait to see your project all done. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the duvet inspiration Rene. That MR. pops up everywhere! I get a little laugh everytime I see him, makes me want to change my profile to MRS. just for fun!
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to see the duvet that you make. Being from South we love a good monogram. I am anxious to do a pillow.

I love the white ruffled duvet! I need one too! I can't wait to see your fun projects. Doning all those projects in one weekend?... you are an overachiever!

Thanks for the different duvet inspirations and tutorials!! I too can't believe how much you do - I would hate to think of what your critic would say about my (lack) of completion of projects!!!
ReplyDeletei am in love with the look of the last one! i just love ruched bedding... i have a pintuck duvet cover and love it, too, but i really love that ruched one! when i got mine west elm had another that was more ruched that i loved but it was very thin and see through and i wasn't fond of that. and i don't have patience to make my own- i made two before, and i used up all the patience i had for it then. i need a ocuple years to warm back up to the idea!
ReplyDeleteI love Janell's classic style at Isabella and Max Rooms. It's always so classic and so neat-looking.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all this inspiration, Rene. I always think the preparing (by looking for inspiration) is almost as important as the doing. So you could tell your Mister that you *are* doing projects. Just the preparing part!

That is too funny about your hubby! I can't wait to see what you have made. I am trying to catch up, my weekend was filled with painting and now my little one is sick. I hope you have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteMy personal critic - one of them -commented that I have not been posting enough. I told my mom I would post more often.

Beautiful inspirations! BTW I never thought you were slacking on the projects! The exact opposite in fact--you put the rest of us to shame!
ReplyDeleteWow beautiful!!! can hardly wait to see what you do and I love anything monogramed, adds a personal touch.

I think it's cute your hubbby weighed in like that. Excited to see your projects {like always!}.
ReplyDeleteLove the last duvet! More beautiful than any I have seen like this.

I heart the Anthropology duvet!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am getting ready to make the same things for my little guy. Thanks for posting some inspiration. Can't wait to see your monogramed pillow.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your room. I'm planning to redo my son's room while he's away at outdoor lab next month - I'm sure I'll get some inspiration from yours!!
ReplyDeleteOh the block print duvet is genius! Perhaps I can make myself a fun throw pillow with some scraps I have lying around. Thanks for sharing, Rene!
ReplyDeleteI like the one from I&MR best b/c I think it would hold up in my house. ;) I love the idea of making my own duvet cover, but wonder if the cost of fabric would make it easier to just purchase one...
ReplyDeleteLove all the duvet inspirations! Block printing your own could be really cool. Can't wait to see the finished projects you worked on this weekend!
ReplyDeleteAmanda, it depends on the fabric I suppose. Mine is made of muslin on the cheap.
ReplyDeleteMaking a duvet cover has been on my list of things to do for a long time. Thanks for posting these ideas!
ReplyDeleteWe have a full sized bed and it's impossible to find a comfortor cover to fit the comfortor that I have that's a true full. Most that you can purchase now are full/queen which is too big for the comfortor that I have. I need to find some fabric or sheets and get busy!
* Hi, Rene... so glad you posted this. I am a NUT on these...(the only "problem" is that EACH ONE takes up SOOO MUCH SPACE and our guest room closets are almost bulging now, and that is NOT nice for our guests!)...
ReplyDelete... And I ALWAYS love to see what JANELL (of ISABELLA and MAX) does... her "new bed" looks soooo fabulous, as I love a clean-lined, tailored & classic look. Thanks for sharing it, as I had SOMEHOW "missed" this particular pic.
As always, looking forward to reading/seeing your blog!!! Appreciate it so much~ know it must take up so much time to do!!!
Warmest,

Looking forward to what you come up with...I'm a sucker for Janell's style when it comes to bedding.
ReplyDeleteOh I love the one from Isabella and Max!I really like all of them but that is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the wonderful inspirations! The images are lovely. I made a duvet years ago(Hmm, I wonder where it is!?!) but should really try it again. These are lovely. You always have wonderful ideas. Thank you, Rene.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness...you've had a busy weekend, Rene! I can't wait to see it all. I think that is so sweet that your husband reads your blog.
ReplyDeleteI love love love the Anthropologie one! So perfect for so many different types of bedroomss and guest rooms!
ReplyDeleteI love the last one! I just got one just like it on overstock for a super reasonable price!! Now I just hope it holds up with all the doggie paw prints that will be all over it!
