Where is Your TV? & a Linky

Thanks for sharing your thoughts yesterday about the daunting question of where to put the tv. Now I'm curious to see how you have yours arranged. There is a linky open if you would like to post your tv dilemmas arrangement for the rest of us to see. It will remain open until Saturday morning.

Here is ours and if it never sells, I might just paint it like the one below by S.R. Gambrel.  I love that whole room.  And it might just call for another location.  Time will tell.

  1. I vote paint it, especially after seeing your inspiration photo! (PS - My equipment is wired through to the basement.)

  2. It would be pretty painted...i would paint ours, but mr. o spent too much time stripping the paint and would be devastated if I painted it:)

  3. OK, the post I've linked up is only vaguely TV storage related, but you can still see what we use. I think this is a fun linky idea, so I had to join in!

  4. I see now why you want to get rid of your armoire ... that thing is HUGE!! If it doesn't sell, donate it to charity, take a nice tax deduction, and let your imagination run wild with new TV ideas.

  5. I love our armoire so the tv doesn't seem like the focal point of the room. LOVE that inspiration photo - I say you try painting it! If I suggested something besides an armoire, I just might be crazy - considering how long I dreamed of one for our house!

  6. Love the Gambrel photo and I think you should paint your armoire! We had a similar armoire (same wood color) that I tried selling on CL, but didn't have much luck. When I decided to paint it white, I got so many offers!

  8. I have the same armoir and just moved it to the kids playroom as their media cabinet. It looks great and is flanked by two tall IKEA shelves so I'm considering painting it as well.

My tv is on a turquoise dresser and I'd like to share it but I don't have a blog so the linky thing won't let me post it without a web address to link it to. So you can only share if you have a blog???

  9. Thanks for hosting this fun link party Rene! I still love armoires - I have one in my bedroom that holds my TV there. I LOVE your inspiration photo. I actually like the wood tone on your armoire but I think it would look great painted too!

  10. I still love the idea of being able to close the doors on an armoire. I think you should paint it white and add some fun detail...what about white leather in the inset and trimmed with nailheads. Something like these, if you use your imagination.

  13. Hi Rene-

I am having the same dilemna about painting a cabinet - I have two matching cabinets that I have been wanting to paint for a long time. They sit empty in my family room since we got a wall mounted TV. I love the Gambrel piece.
I linked a post about how my family room evolved - Still not sure what I want to do around the TV. I am leaving it plain for the time being. This link-up will surley give me ideas - Thanks

    My best -Diane

  14. I love the way that the armoire is off to the side, like it's just a piece of furniture for storage, not the TV armoire, know what I mean? I'm going to leave this window open so I can see more options!

  18. it might take a while to sell...ours did since i think a lot of people buy big flat screens. i do miss having our tv closed behind doors but now we have more space since the buffet we use is more narrow. i linked up.

  20. I like the idea of painting your armoire, Rene. I wish we had something like that. I would prefer to hide the TV, the DVD box and the cable box. We have a new TV but still have to have all that other stuff and cords, etc. Is that wallpaper on your wall? It's very pretty.

  21. I loved this post...because I can relate! I feel like I am always trying to photograph my family room for my blog without showing the tv above the mantel (like I'm ashamed!) I did find one post that shows one photo of it and I think I even apologized and tried to make excuses for it! Haha! It's totally fine...just tricky to decorate around! Thank you for the opportunity to link up!
    Best Wishes!

  22. If you're like me, you have to really be in the right mood to paint, but I say 'go for it'! Really like the lighter color on the armoire.

Tks for hosting. This was a great linky idea. We should do this for all our decorating dilemmas :)

    Good luck!

  24. The dreaded TV!! I acutally think your armoire is pretty as it is. am I alone here??!! But your inspiration photo is great and it would certainly look beautiful painted too! Good luck. No great answer I'm afraid, but I do prefer it hidden as opposed to the flat screens handging on the wall like art work. Happy Thursday, Rene!!
