Gallery walls are an excellent way to add interest to a room. This is one place in your home where you can tell a story or showcase an interest. In the past I was attracted to gallery walls that were made up of artwork in similar or matching frames. Over time my taste has changed and I really like a more collected look in various frames of gold, white, black, natural/stained wood, or even unframed canvas.

I have a gallery wall of all black frames, but am in the process of removing it to go with more of a collected look. Love these pics! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOh I love the one from Kerrie L. Kelly, with the dark blue wall tone, and the keep calm print and the golden clock!
ReplyDeleteMy every time favorite!;)
Thank you for sharing!
Lovely greetings...

i love these images! i love galelry walls a gal like me can't afford big art, so these gallery walls rock my world. i can afford them, and they are so eclectic and fun!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how they look so great together despite being different subject matter, different sizes, different frame styles and different frame colors. Thanks for putting this together. I enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteGreat inspiration! I'm working on a gallery wall in my living room and it's slowly coming together. I need to remind myself, it's my home, my wall, I can hang things however I want, it doesn't need to be perfect, just perfect for me. Thanks for the great post, I love your blog!
ReplyDeletelove these collections of gallery walls.

Thanks for showing all these great gallery walls. I have been wanting to do this in my house just need to figure out which wall.
ReplyDeleteI love art walls, have done a couple in my house and haven't tired of them yet! :) I like a mixture of frames and subjects, makes it interesting, and even of sculptural item or two.

This is the kind of inspiration I needed today!
ReplyDeleteThe first Houzz image you shared is taking my breath away! I definitely think these images sparked the need to rethink the similar groupings I've done throughout my apartment. Now I'm off to "mix it up"!
ReplyDeleteYep, I'm with ya! I love mixing and matching too. I have only done one gallery wall so far (in my son's room), and I can't wait to do another one..or two!
ReplyDeleteLove the different examples. I'm bookmarking this post!
That Tamar Schechner one is just packed with personality and soul! Love it!! I've yet to create my own...still working on the collection. Thanks for the inspiration!

My home is full of miss-matched frames... But AL beautiful art.. I love the variety. It adds interest, and catches peoples eyes much faster than if it were identical... It's much like those cookie cutter neighborhoods, with identical homes... No one goes to look!
ReplyDeleteI really want to have a gallery wall but can't seem to find just the right spot for one. And I LOVE the ostrich wallpaper in that one picture!
ReplyDeleteKat :)
Rene, this is a great selection of photos with tons of inspiration!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! the first image is amazing. Love the pops of color.
ReplyDeleteSo many great ideas! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThese are great! I am hoping to do something like this over break! Thanks for the inspirations.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day. :)
Love these gallery wall inspirations, my favorite is the dining room with the Lucite chair. I like the vintage look of the artwork.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous images!! Love the two pictures with that seablue background - so pretty. I can't commit to one "style" of gallery, so I have 2 different groupings in my house with a third underway! Nothing like being over the top.
ReplyDeleteI love gallery walls. I'm actually trying to decide which style to go with in my kitchen. I'd love for you to stop by and give me your opinion

I love these! I too have a gallery wall...not quite as glamorous as these but my mom didn't think I needed my whole bedroom suite with me in graduate school so I used my gallery wall as a way to add some interest behind my bed that is sadly lacking a headboard! I used a variety of frames and picked pictures from my travels abroad.
ReplyDeleteall of those walls are so lovely! thanks for the wonderful inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I am right in the middle of a picture wall for my girls. Great inspirations!
ReplyDeleteGreat roundup of gallery walls! I love them too! I am also drawn to an ecclectic mix of frames and placement. I usually eyeball mine, instead of measuring. These galleries were so fun to look at!
ReplyDeleteRene! I finally got a chance to check out your post. That is SO funny. Yes, we are totally in tune today. Love it. All the images are so beautiful. I am especially into the one from the Vancouver Sun. I want my home to feel like that!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite design picture of all time is the Houzz white walled office with the industial table! I even posted about that picture! Thanks for sharring such great pictures
ReplyDeleteTake Care,
Heather
I love the collected look of all of these. The nice thing is that you can keep adding to them whenever you find something interesting that will bring a personal feel to your room.
ReplyDeleteLot's of great ideas for creating gallery walls with collected style.
ReplyDeleteI really liked my simple gallery wall (of empty frames), but once I added a bit of colour, I'm rethinking the empty frame thing.
I've had fun adding things to the frames based on the seasons/holidays, but I think it's time to umph it up and add some personal items that mean something to me. After all, isn't that what your home should reflect? :)
love these examples! i too love a mix of both mediums and frames. i have a blank wall in our FR screaming for a gallery wall. i'm still collecting the art to put it together.

I'm working on a couple of gallery walls. One is my little nephew's artowrk and the other is a family wall. The focal point of the family wall is a beautiful picture of my Mom from my wedding, another one of my parents on their 50th anniversary and I'm gathering old photos of great great grandparents and developing kind of a family tree wall. I like the idea of a collection of frames and am now inspired after your post today to do that. It does add more interest and I have extra frames that I can put to good use now.
ReplyDeleteThe mailman brought me a great piece of monogramed art yesterday and between that and your post, I was inspired to do my own gallery wall post.
ReplyDeleteI used your Houzz image and mentioned your post, hop you don't mind!
Love your pics!
I love the images you've put up in this post. There's room in any look for the idea of a feature wall, I think. We have one going up our stairs. It's the perfect place to stop and look each time I pass.

Great post.
ReplyDeleteI just hung my art wall recently and even though I thoroughly planned it out, I'm still not happy with it. I'm saving this post so I can study it later and analyze the balance and proportion!
I really love all of the photos you selected. Beautiful rooms and great inspiration.
ReplyDeleteAwesome inspiration pictures! I love gallery walls. I have a photo gallery wall going up our staircase and right now I'm in the process of creating a gallery wall in our upstairs hallway done with all vintage maps! I can't wait to see how it all turns out!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the shout-out!
