Do you have a magazine spread of a home that you keep going back to? My current crush is from the March issue of BHG showcasing the work of talented designer Kelly Keiser. I simply adore what she has done with soft blues, mirrors, and touches of orange. Perhaps you could say that I have an orange crush ;)
My apologies for the camera shots of a magazine.
It all begins with the entry where you see this gorgeous mirror - would love to know the color. Everything looks so easy going and believable. Like no one tried too hard.
Love this elegant living room. Traditional with just enough modern to keep it interesting. The chandelier - brilliant!
Who would've thought...lanterns on the sideboard? Orange ones. This makes me very happy.
Of course we all love the butterflies, but do you know about Trowbridge, the source for the egg prints? The company I work for at the furniture market always uses art from Trowbridge to complete the vignettes and I must say, there is something for everyone.
The porthole mirrors are a nice touch over the upholstered headboard and I really like the way the molding is dropped down to create an illusion of higher ceilings.
If you like her style, Kelly Keiser has website in the works, but it isn't up and running yet. Something to look forward to.
Do you have a crush too?

Love all the orange accents, especially the lantern! Thanks for sharing, what a beautiful and inspiring home. Janell
ReplyDeleteI'm liking the orange accents too. Guess orange is this years accent color? Love her little ottomans. She kills me with the baby in hand. I don't think I could have had a house that nice when my children while they were that young. Lucky woman! lol.

ReplyDeleteI tore out this whole spread and added it to my idea file when I received this particular issue of BHG. And I've been looking for old, ornate mirrors to spray paint! Love your taste!
ReplyDeleteThe colors are perfect--you get the cool soothing blues and ivories and then those awesome pops of orange. Such creative touches throughout--like that clever little bench in the kitchen.

ReplyDeletewhen I first saw a glimpse of this house on another blog it was about 10:30 at night, I was already in my pjs and I begged my husband to run to the store and buy me a copy of the mag. Crazy! I do love it though. One of my favorites in BHG in a long time.

Hi Rene, I remember seeing this feature and I got all excited!! I think this couple lives in Chicago and I loved reading how they made their small space work!! Love the blue and orange palette!! BTW, I received my bookends - love them is an understatement!! :)
ReplyDeleteI am with you...a charming home. I have always loved that DR slipper chair fabric from Schumacher...and am using it for a client right now. I thought the orange accents were brilliant.....think I will get out my spray paint :)
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the few spreads where I actually liked how the homeowner used this peachy orange. She definitely has the eye.

What a beautiful home! Nicolex
ReplyDeletelove the mirror and the blue chairs in the second picture!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great magazine spread. Each & every page was equally lovely. I have an inspiration journal where I keep pages that I torn out of magazines. I don't just use it for home decor ideas, I save pics of fashion design, jewelry, absolutely anything that I see that sparks interest. Lately, because we are buying a new house & will be doing some painting, I'm saving pictures of paint colors that I like. I love this book.
