The Vintage Bar & a Sale Reminder

The vintage bar has certainly received attention lately in the decorating world.  My taste doesn't really venture toward hard liquor, but I do love the look of a bar.  Not sure how a liquor shrine would work with a teenager in the house, but I'm thinking about adding an area to our dining room that will accommodate ice buckets, glasses, decanters, etc.  I have been collecting images for a while now.

  3. I have an armoire that I want to turn into a bar. These all gave me the nudge to get going on that project. And I saw a bottle of Pimm's in the first photo and wondered where you found it. Then realized that was from Pinterest. You can't find Pimm's in the town! I've never had it but want to try it and they have blank faces when I ask for it at the ABC stores around here.

  4. Love the inspiration !! We had one built in our breakfast area a couple of years ago, and I do enjoy "staging" it. I love how you can turn almost "anything" into a wine bar, don't you?

  6. I have my Mom's old tea cart which I have made into a bar of sorts. It sits in my LR with a chair on either side, a lamp and accessories on top and a basket with assorted wine, etc. below. Not sure my teenagers even know it's there, but I'm sure that won't last for long!

  10. Beautiful images! You've seen my liquor hutch, but I also have a grouping of decanters on my sideboard in my dining room. We like liquor here, so it makes sense. If liquors not really your thing, I love that image from The Semi-Designed Life of the tea cart with decanters, coasters, and napkins.

  11. I love having a designated spot for serving "adult" drinks when entertaining. Beautiful images! Happy Mother's Day weekend my friend! Hope you are spoiled!

  12. I so get what you mean about a liquor shrine (perfect way to put it, and cracked me up!) but I do love a nicely style bar. There's something so glamorous and sophisticated about it. I would love to find some old bamboo console/bar/table to spray paint and dress up as a bar for my living room...

  16. Hi Rene! I agree- I am not into hard liquor, but just think a stocked bar area (in an attractive way) sends such a nice welcoming feeling to guests when they come over! I just bought a cabinet for our dining room that I have turned into our stocked bar- it is working well! Take care, Caroline
