You can use the original paint chip, but a wooden chip is much sturdier and will hold up to the stressful environment inside your purse.
I love this stylish method for holding the window open. We have replaced all of the windows on our main floor, but the upstairs windows could really use a "prop".
Another trick that I found to be helpful was this solution for the dreaded cords; one of my least favorite things.
This is an oldie, but a goodie from In My Own Style using the rubber band trick to prevent paint drips from forming on the outside of the can. I usually use a plastic container with a metal bar across the middle that serves the same purpose.
And, last, but not least, a ribbon smoothing trick from Real Simple.
Do you have any tricks or tips? I would love to "pin" them.

great tips Rene, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteEvery one of these is new to me, even the rubber band around the paint can. I will definitely use this one - had a tough time prying a paint can open yesterday!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these tips! Hang on to this post. I am beginning another linky party meme in July called Tips, Tidbits and Tutorials. This is perfect!

I am for sure going to try the tip with holding windows open. The windows on my second floor of our 1910 house are either painted shut or you open them and they don't stay open by themselves. Super idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat great tips and tricks! You could write a book with all of yours...I could spend an eternity on pinterest...hope you are having a wonderful summer.

ReplyDeleteGreat tips! The rubber band on the paint can is clever! Hope your week is off to a good start, Rene.
ReplyDeleteSO clever. I love your idea of collecting all these tips in one place, where you can add to them, on a board in Pinterest. So awesome! How glad am I that I follow you there! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love that cord trick! I have a ton of those clips but I'm not sure they are wide enough for my desk top which is a door. The rubber band one is great too. I'm going to just go pin your board!
