Today I am so excited to be kicking off my new series "My Favorite Room". My first guest is Casey of Loft & Cottage. Welcome Casey!
Thanks so much, Rene, for inviting me to share my favorite room! As anyone who knows me or reads my blog can probably guess, my favorite room is what I've been working on most recently, and what I've put the most time and attention into lately. And while I used to really loathe this room for it's small size, odd layout, and lack of interest, it is now my favorite space—and it's all because of the daybed.
Go to see how I made the frame, and slipcover, myself. And maybe make your own favorite spot?!

Thanks Casey! You are a girl after my heart with this wonderful use of drop cloth ;) To check out Casey's blog and to see more of her work, go here.

I remember when Casey did the mood board for this space and I loved it!! I think she did a great job - the chandelier, color of her pillows and her daybed (I still cant' believe she made it)!! I can see why it's her favorite!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great little niche to have! Love all those windows!

Oh...I've been thinking of doing this same sort of thing in my den/office/library. I have that sort of little space that is not quite right for a sofa but would be perfect for this sort of daybed. Thanks for featuring her blog...I'm going right over.
ReplyDeletewow what a fun series! i am off to check out casey's blog!
ReplyDeletePerfection is right! I fantasize about a "Keeping Room" just for me, with a daybed, a couple of rocking chairs, lots of light, lots of pillows . . . Just a place for reading, napping, crocheting or conversation. No TV! Your daybed is just so right! And kudos on making your own cover!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great space and so clever to add the daybed to relax and read a great book by the window. Thank you for sharing!!

What a lovely space. So inviting! It looks like I could plop myself down there and feel quite at home. Love that it is not fussy, but looks nicely used and friendly.
ReplyDeleteWonderful!

What a great spot!! I am smitten with that chandelier!
ReplyDeleteHi Rene! OH, this would be my favorite spot too! I can imagine how much use that daybed gets! :) Just lovely.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Casey's done such a great job with the daybed! When she shared it I was flabbergasted by how good it looked and fit naturally into her space.
ReplyDeleteAnd yay for a new series! Can't wait to see who else shows their spaces!
That is fantastic! I especially love the book stacked to form that small table. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Love window seats and that one looks like such a comfortable spot to curl up with a book. Love the beaded chandy, too! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love reading Casey's blog and that spot looks so tranquil and relaxing. I found a new blog too - new reader.
ReplyDeleteOh...this is a perfect room to lounge in! I love bamboo blinds and they really keep the room open! Great job, Casey!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Casey's favorite room is pretty fabulous -- I adore the beaded chandelier! But her design for the daybed is genius. I was a happy girl when I discovered her blog.

That is a fantastic use of that space! What a comfortable spot to sit and relax. I like Casey's pillows and also the fun hot pink throw.
ReplyDeleteI would SO love to have a little area like that in my house.....I would probably have to fight my dogs for that space though!
ReplyDeleteHaving seen Casey's favorite space in person, I can enthusiastically tell you that it is pretty fabulous. I still can't believe she made that daybed herself. What a crafty lady!
ReplyDeleteI would spend every waking minute in this space. I love so many things about it! The texture of the blinds with the linen slipcover and the stack of books with the small plant and dish. It's all in the details. Very well thought out space.
ReplyDeleteI love your new series Rene!
I'm so flattered by all the sweet comments! They totally inspire me to keep going on making some other changes around the house. Thanks again, Rene, for being a great host, and I can't wait to your other guests' rooms!
ReplyDeleteOh, I like this feature! I'm sure we'll see some great rooms.
