When I showed new pictures of our entry last week, I received several emails asking for the source of the black mirror. You remember that it wasn't always black.
It had a silver-ish finish when we bought it and I didn't think it would provide enough pop against our newly painted white walls. I recently stumbled upon a folder of "black mirrors" that I had been collecting for inspiration.
If you are also curious about the source, our mirror came from a local store that has since closed. However, while out and about the other day shopping for clients, I saw mirrors that were similar to mine.
Ross $149 (stained wood, gold)
Garden Ridge $129 (black)
Ikea (brown/black 79.99)
Garden Ridge $129 (black)
And of course there is always the Ikea option for much less....

I hope this helps. Have a great day!

I love large mirrors in any room ~ and we actually have that IKEA one!
ReplyDeleteRene, love the mirror My friend bough the one for Ikea and it's just beautiful...
ReplyDeleteI was hoping you'd do a tutorial on the slipcover for the cube. I have also seen similar mirrors at Marshall's and Home Goods. I would love to have a mirror like that in our home someday.
ReplyDeleteYour mirror looks great! I love all the inspirations too!
ReplyDeleteDebbie
Love that you painted it black. It looks great in that spot and near your colored door!

Love the black! It really looks great in your space!
ReplyDeleteI have the black IKEA one in my room, and the only downside is that the glass isn't beveled around the frame edge, which can give it a higher end appearance... other than that I love it. :)
ReplyDeleteLove a black mirror! I could use one in almost every room. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Renee-
ReplyDeleteLove the big black mirrors - they add so much style and light. I have that bedroom photo from Decor Pad in my inspiration file. I just love everything about that room.
My best- Diane
Loving the contrast! It really makes a big impact and I love it next to the door!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I like it even better than the happy tape! A liitle dose of sophistication. I have a big mirror that I was planning to discard, now I'm reconsidering...
ReplyDeleteI have the IKEA option in white by my master bath. People think it was custom....such a great deal and nice to have a full length mirror near the closet.
ReplyDeleteI am all over those black mirrors and as long as they make me look skinny....I'm in!!!
ReplyDeletelooks great! I haven't thought of Garden Ridge in three years... used to love that place!
ReplyDeletejoan

I've been searching for a huge mirror! Yours is beautiful ... and thanks for the ideas about where to find others :).
ReplyDeleteI actually pinned your picture for inspiration. I have a large black mirror and wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it. I love your mirror with the color of your door!
ReplyDeleteIt makes an impact, Rene. I really like it!!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the cube tutorial! That project is calling my name!
ReplyDeleteTake care,

You've made me a huge, HUGE fan, Rene. I'm looking around the house now for a place to put one...
ReplyDeleteSo, I like the leaned look, but I'm glad you chose to attach yours to the wall.
Camille
I like the leaned look too, but with such a small space hanging it seemed to make more sense. We attached those hinge bumpers to the hinges to keep the door from banging into it.
ReplyDeleteLove the way huge mirrors bounce light around a room. Yours looks fantastic. Thanks for sharing all the great sources. Too bad I live so far from an Ikea.
ReplyDeletelove yours! I wish I had space in my apartment for one because we could use the extra light. Maybe in my next place :)
ReplyDeleteLoved the idea of you painting your mirror--so thought about painting my medicine Cabinet (it is inexpensive) It is white and would like it to be black, would you recommend -- spray or brush-- and would you use primer as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for all of your inspirations.............
Kathy
Kathy, my mirror is made of wood or similar and I painted it with a foam brush and BM black semi gloss. This is my favorite black. Don't worry about getting paint on the mirror - it easily scrapes off with a razor. If your medicine cabinet can be easily removed and taken outside that is an option, but I wouldn't use spray paint inside. I hope this helps.
