Room By Room: Entryways & Foyers

Thanks for stopping by!  Welcome to the first party in a series of monthly "room to room" parties! Today we are taking a look at entries/foyers.

If you have been following my blog a while,  then you know that I have recently made a few changes to our entry that include painting the walls, front door (interior), and adding a large mirror

I first considered painting the door black, but decided against it because of the other black pieces in the room.  I'm really happy that I went with blue instead because it added just the touch of color the space needed.

Enough about me - let's see your entryways.

To join in simply enter the link of the url to your actual "entry/foyer" post, not your blog url.  Please keep it entryways - we will explore other rooms another time.  Please link back to my blog so that others may join in too.  And lastly, it is always nice to visit others at the party.

Thanks for coming & have fun!

Thanks for hosting Rene. It took me a while to get to the front entry update, but it made a world of difference to the vibe of my house, once I did.

I love your entryway mirror and the color of your door with that fantastic letter opening on it!
I'll be joining your party in a little while, it's cloudy here this morning so I'm going to see if the sun will peek out a bit before I take pictures!

Wow, this is inspiring me to paint my from door. Deciding on a color is going to be hard. I was thinking of mellow yellow???

Your post, Rene, and all of the other foyers other bloggers are sharing remind me that mine is downright sad! I'll have to add 'sprucing the entryway up' to my to-do list.

LOVE the blue you chose for the interior of your front door!

Thanks for hosting this link party. Although I didn't get to enter hopefully I'll be able to jump on the next opportunity. I'm getting ready to renovate a home built in 1847 and the entry is beautiful. The intricate detail of the staircase alone is amazing. Once restored it will be certainly be something to post. Thanks to all that entered. It gave me some inspiration. :)

Hi Renee, I just found your blog and now I am a follower.

I agree that blue was the way to go with the door. The dark hardware would not have been nearly as dramatic on a black door.

I (unfortunately) do not have an entryway or foyer--our door opens straight into our living room. :( I DO however, absolutely LOVE the inside of your front door. I really want to do this to my own door!

Hello! I am new to your blog. Your home is so pretty! Thanks so much for hosting this party. I look forward to seeing everyone's entry. Mine is so tiny.....we are foyer challenged around here!

Thank you so much for stopping by everybody! Jukie, the mirror came from a local store several years ago that has since closed. It was silver and I painted it black for a graphic punch. Custom Comforts, don't feel bad, my house doesn't really have a foyer either :) Allison, yes the painting is of our oldest. Mom gave us a painting of each of the boys when they were 5 and they hang on either side of the front window.

This is a great idea, Rene, I love seeing how everyone does their foyers. And I adore that soft blue you painted the inside of your own front door.

That door...just gives me the shivers every time I see it...might have to paint the outside of my door that color.

I'm jealous of all these lovely foyers. Our beach cottage is so small you just step into the living room.

Oh Rene, the power of a mirror! And it's black, which I just love. So sorry to have missed the first in your series. I thought I'd better get one project completed (kitchen) before embarking on another, but let me tell you, your party made me think and think and think about what to do, and now i have a plan, thanks to you. (Which I'm sure will change when I go and check out all of the links!)
