When Rene asked me to guest post about my favorite space I was beyond thrilled! I have been a Cottage and Vine follower for quite some time and I am truly honored to be included with so many fabulous bloggers Rene has featured on this series.
I am Stacy from Red Door Home – a stay at home mom who loves budget decorating, refurbishing vintage and thrift store finds, sewing, and DIY projects. When I first started thinking about my favorite space in my home I immediately choose the family room.
First and most importantly, it is the space where my family spends most of our together time. We all lead such busy lives it is nice to know there is a place we can all be together.
The family room also exemplifies my decorating style perfectly. I love spaces which incorporate a mix of various price points, old and new furnishings, found and created objects, and vintage and modern fabrics.
Lastly, I love this space because it is finally finished! We have lived in our house for almost 10 years and just last month had the built-in cabinets next to the fireplace installed.
They complete the vision my husband and I had for this space when the house was built and they hold some of my favorite treasures.

Those cabinets are the perfect touch Stacy! I also love your mixture of old & new, modern & traditional. Thanks so much for sharing your favorite room with us all today! To see more of Stacy's home go here.

What a lovely room! So put together and finished looking but not complicated. I'm not any kind of professional, but I think I could actually pull off something like this in my own home... like the layout and accessories and stuff. I love seeing rooms that are actually doable!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love those built-ins flanking the fireplace. Such a great, collected style too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning family room! It's calming and inviting, yet has fun pops of the unexpected. Her family room has always been one of my faves ... thanks for sharing. *Becca*
