I am always a fan of using baskets in every room. They add an organic element and give you an organizing edge. This basket and shelf system from Ikea has me thinking.
For under $100 you could add this shelf and these baskets and add a considerable amount of storage.
I also like the idea of displaying dishes on the shelf and using the area below the shelf for canisters and appliances.
Storing condiments and seasonings for easy access is another great idea that I found through Emily.

ReplyDeleteLove the shelf & baskets idea! That first image is so pretty! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeletelove the shelves, but can we talk about the chevron tile backsplash???? wow!
ReplyDeleteI added shelves in my kitchen and stack our every day dishes on them. Functional and cute. Also freed up cabinet space.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, Rene. I think this will be a great solution for your client.
ReplyDeleteLoved the pics from your weekend! They do grow up fast. I'm trying to enjoy every minute I have with my little ones!
Rene, I actually considered doing this in my kitchen instead of opening a cabinet for shelves. Might still as these images are inspiring, and we have no backsplash to worry about drilling through! Would you do it in your kitchen?

Camille, if I needed the extra storage/organization and did not already have open cabinets I would do this in a heartbeat.
