My husband has been in L.A. for the last two days so I thought this was a great time to do a little cleanse. I found this on pinterest and find that it
My day looks something like this...
breakfast
snack
lunch
snack
And just like that, my sugar cravings are gone. This is a 2 day meal plan. Any longer and I would be bored out of my mind with the food choices. Did anybody else out there eat too much candy during Halloween? Better yet, do you ever need to hit your reset button?

You have no idea...I'm right there with you. This cleanse actually looks really good. But I'm assuming coffee isn't included unless it's black - that would be tough. The smoothie looks delicious!
ReplyDelete25 bars?! That's it?! I have to be in the 100 range -- and it came right after my South Beach Phase 1 program where I lost 7 pounds. UGH. Monday, I start again!
ReplyDeleteI have never done a cleanse but I definitely need to hit a reset button!!! Thanks for this recommendation....I have to check it out. While I'm working on a project I'm constantly snacking instead of eating proper meals. I made my kids eat all my favorites from their Halloween candy first so I wouldn't be tempted while they're at school! :)
ReplyDeleteHolly, looks can be deceiving. The smoothie is horrible. I did drink black coffee to avoid harsh withdrawals, but it wasn't on the plan.
ReplyDeleteHave you seen that video where the parents pretend to eat all the kids candy and the kids cry? It was not staged at our house-- I really thought they were too little to notice so Adam and I ate most of the candy.... ugh.
ReplyDeleteI actually really love green smoothies, but I put this stuff called Amazing Grass in them-- there's a chocolate-flavored kind that makes them taste pretty good!
Good luck! Hubby will get home to a new women! I think the asparagus looks good so maybe it would work for me too. About 2 yrs ago I went on a health kick/exercise kick, it was really good for me.....I lost 30 lbs so I am all for getting your health mojo back! You go girl!
ReplyDeleteI'm too much a sugar addict to cold turkey it like that, but I tip my hat to you. What conviction! Now....any chance hubby is doing the same in LA?
ReplyDeleteKelly, are you kidding. My husband has been texting me pictures of In&Out Burger - one of my favorite burger joints on the west coast ;)
ReplyDeleteHa! It doesn't have to be Halloween week for me to eat 25+ candy bars (seriously, I have a major sweet tooth. I wish I had the discipline that you are demonstrating, Rene.
ReplyDeleteThat smoothie recipe looks particularly yummy!
Just added that to my pinterest and my mental "to do" list for next week!
ReplyDeleteLove everything on this menu! Now where is the main course and dessert, lol.
ReplyDeleteHats off to you. Good luck.

Oh, this is inspiring...and great timing...Halloween...Thanksgiving...Christmas...perfect timing to get back on track before the holidays really start up! Take care, Caroline
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a much more doable cleanse than what I've seen. I definitely need to hit the reset button. I've been filching way too many peanut butter cups from the boys' Halloween totes. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteit is amazing to me that sweets cause you to want more sweets! i have been dipping into the candy corn pot too much. i need to really do better.... ugh. i NEED to, but i don't want to.
ReplyDeleteWell I certainly prefer this cleanse René to the one I tried in the spring. I tried the liquid cleanse...yikes. I am due for another one though, might try this one!
ReplyDeleteI'm usually very good with what I eat, basically follow the Paleo diet, but my big downfall is chocolate! So when Halloween comes, I just give in. Back to the basics this week, and feeling great again! Amazing what food can do to affect our lives and how we feel!
ReplyDeleteJanell
I should do this. It's jus so hard when every tooth you have is a sweet tooth ;)
ReplyDeleteRene', Thanks for the little kick!

Isn't it amazing how you really can lose your cravings when you eat like this for a few days...it's just getting to that point...I'm not there just yet...maybe today?!
ReplyDeleteThis is just what i need. thank you.
ReplyDeleteI ate alot of candy too! Love this idea right before Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteSorry I didn't connect with you at High Point. If I go again I have a plan to be more organized and time effective!
YES! And we are going to Florida for Thanksgiving and I need to lose a couple lbs. You are my inspiration!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
I am right there with you...I love sweets, so when there are bags of candy around - of course I have to eat it. I have no willpower at the moment :(
ReplyDeleteHope it goes well! xo Ashlyn
Funny you should post this today--I'm on Day 11 of a 21 day cleanse. This is my first one ever and I'm liking how I feel so far. Way to take the plunge toward better health!
ReplyDeleteLets see... we ate too much before Halloween and needed to buy more! Ate more during Trick or Treat night and thank goodness it is all gone!
ReplyDeleteUh, I just polished off
ReplyDeletethe second to last
Butterfinger mini
hidden in the cookie jar.
At the same time, I've
been going to spinning
every day this week and
making better food
choices, so hopefully
the good outweighs the
bad : ) !! Looks like a
sensible re-set, Rene!
xx Suzanne
Um, yes and I am still eating it!!! This cleanse actually looks really good. I love all the food that you have here, might not be a bad idea to try.

Girl..I broke into the candy after my 3 trick or treaters.....I seriously could smell it through the wrappers. AND...to make matters worse, I bought my husband a pint of Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia last night and proceeded to beg for spoonfuls, even though I told him not to let me have any. Of course he caved.....
ReplyDeleteSherry, Cherry Garcia is one of my all time favorite flavors! Here we go again :)
ReplyDeleteI just took Grady to In n Out yesterday . . amazing but feel so off with my diet. Halloween KILLED me as well. I don't even have a sweet tooth but since the candy fairy came and snatched up all the candy it's now in my closet. BAD NEWS. Proud of you and your switcheroo. I need to do the same.
ReplyDeleteMy downfall is ice cream. If it's in the freezer I will eat it!
ReplyDeleteAs I sit here in shame eating one of the remaining peanut butter cups, I must say - I am so glad I read this! Once I get on this sugar routine, it gets hard to stop even though I know I need to. I will try your meal plan because I would love to reset!

Hi there, I really like your blog and have added you. We just bought a 1937 home and I can hardly wait to get started on it! I am so glad to see a woman admit to eating mini bars like that, gee, I thought I was the only one! Good way to eat though with the rest here! Come say hi some time. ;D
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this Rene - I really need to try it. Great timing too with the holidays coming up. I need to get in check before all the huge family dinners and Christmas food.
ReplyDeleteI'm hearing you and have just repinned. We are heading into summer in Australia and this is just what I need to reset myself after a winter of sitting on the couch eating chocolate.
ReplyDeleteI need to do this too. I ate two bags of mini snickers in over a week’s time…shameful.
ReplyDeleteI could eat all of this daily. I saw too much candy being consumed it turned me off so no I did not eat too much of that..but I could use some detox from some extra red wine drinking..holiday festivities have begun a little early:) This is great..love the smoothie idea and asparagus, and cucumbers and tea area a daily consumption.
ReplyDeleteThis does look good, actually. I am so over all the sugar I've consumed in the past month! But I'm with Holly--add some black coffee and sign me up.
