This is a boxwood wreath, made by Mom, hanging on the inside of the front door. She stuffed the top with feathers and in the bottom rests a peacock. I adore this wreath!
In years past, Mom is known to make a centerpiece that is so tall that we cannot even see over. This year, she went with a low arrangement of boxwood, golden pears, and white nandina berries. I think this is my favorite arrangement she has ever made.
This is a table in the breakfast room. Mom stuffed an old sugar cane mold with fresh fruit & greenery. I need to remember this for next year.
Mom picked up these trees at a local florist and rested them on a bed of fresh cypress. She added the gold beads, lights, and pine cones and it is simply beautiful.
I hope you enjoyed a little peek into Mom's style.

All beautiful! Now we can see where you got it from. Thanks to your mom for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYour mom's home is beautiful and her tree is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I will tell her. Yes, the tree has to be anchored to the wall because in years past it has turned over in the middle of the night. Crazy right?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful decorations! My favorite is her mantle!
ReplyDeleteOh the decorations are beautiful! I *love* the peacock wreath - I had to pin it for next year ;)

Beautiful! The trees on the mantle are my favorite! I love looking into the homes of older people. They tell such a story about life and (usually) have such a comfortable atmosphere. Maybe because as you get older, you quit caring so much about what other people think and simply go with what you love and what makes the most sense. Add that to years of layering furniture and accessories and... I actually look forward to growing older!
ReplyDeleteRene,
