I'm just popping in to check in. Some of you are aware of recent events in our family, but I just wanted to give a little more detail so that no one worries.
***
Until yesterday we weren't sure whether Parker would have full feeling and use of his fingers so yesterday when those fingers all wiggled we were very happy. We came home yesterday and have settled in to our new routine of showering, eating, etc. He is right handed and of course the injury was on his right arm, but he is such a trooper that he never complains. As a matter of fact if I say something like, "I'm cold", he tells me to quit whining with a big smile on his face.
So here we are, ready for Christmas only things are a little different now. I am thankful for my friends and family, the kindness of strangers, and that this is no worse than it is.
The Christmas linky party will remain open until Friday and favorites will be posted Saturday. Enjoy your week.

Oh crap, Rene:(
I'm so sorry to hear that. When I started to read this post, my heart sank because I didn't know what I was going to hear. I'm glad that your son is home and things are going alright. Christmas may be a little different, but it still will be. Its things like this that make us realize how less important some things are and how much more others are.
Take care of your baby. And always enjoy the little things:)
So sorry for Parker and the family, but thankful for doctors and medical staff, and kind strangers (angels)! Thanks for your Christmas card.
It sounds like your son is quite the trooper and he has your family's love to support him - thanks for reminding us about what is truly important. I'll be thinking about you guys.
Poor kid, that is bad! I broke both my arms at the same time in 6th grade, not fun. What a thing to happen and at this time of year! Well, take care and have a great Christmas together. :D
As a mother of a longboarder, we have had our share of cuts and bruises but nothing as bad as that. I am so glad that he is recovering well. Just a footnote....we live on a very steep and long hill. ;)
Best wishes over the holidays.

So glad he's ok and on the mend! It is amazing the stuff we take for granted, huh? And what better time of year to have thankfulness on the brain? Wishing you a happy holiday!
Also... wishing for a bit of snow. But that could be considered complaining, so I should probably be quiet. :)
Oh I am so sorry to hear this. I know how sick you must have felt to have gotten that phone call and to see your son in pain...our oldest has had a terrible accident like that and it is so terrible because you replay all of the events over and over in your mind and as a mother shouldn't but we always do..."what if we" goes through your mind as well. Our children are so precious and things like this remind us of that truth. I hope you all can get some rest..glad you are home and can begin the recovery process. Feed him lots of fudge...that is the BEST cure for everything! lol
Merry Christmas! Kristine
Best wishes for his speedy recovery, and a happy holiday for all of you!
Rene, my thoughts and prayers are with you! My older son had a very similar accident skate boarding when he was 15....we missed surgery by 1/16 of an inch difference with the break....I can understand a little of what you are going through....Scary! It looks like he is doing well and I hope the best for him and you...Hang in there Mom!
