I showed her this image and she loved it!
I suggested using a large 24 X36 cork board, around $35 from an office supply or big box store. To achieve this layered look, start pinning ribbons using thumb tacks at the bottom and work your way up. The more ribbons, the better.
This was all part of a mood board plan for the room. The wall color (bright green) and furniture (black) were remaining in the room. For some reason I cannot upload a before picture.
Because the walls are such a strong green, I thought it was best to go with white bedding and bring color in through accent pillows.
I also planned a mood board for the adjoining bathroom.
I love that idea of all the ribbons on display, and also the bathroom moodboard with the black & white chevron paired with bubble gum pink!

Beautiful design, Rene! You are good!! I grew up riding horses and I have too many ribbons in my parents attic. I actually went through them last year and threw a TON away! Maybe one day I'll make an awesome board like that with the "special" ones I saved! I hope your client does everything in your boards... I'd love to see it come to life!

ReplyDeleteWhat a neat idea to use the ribbons as inspiration. I had all of mine displayed on a bulletin board when I was young. I was so proud of those ribbons and I bet my Mom still has them too. And all different fun colors too!

ReplyDeleteI like the ribbon display idea. It is effective in displaying all the ribbons and therefore colorful and an easy solution which is inexpensive. Great ideas for the bathroom.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! Cross Country running is like that, too. Even if you aren't in the medals, you probably earned a ribbon. Lucky for me, WD never thought much of finisher ribbons, and tossed the bulk of them.
