Fireplace Styling

Now that the days are warmer it is time to clean the ashes out of the fireplace one last time.  I love the idea of putting something pretty inside the in the "off" season.  Sometimes I use magnolia branches or baskets full of hydrangeas.  The first image had me at hello.  It's that color pink again pulling at my heart strings.  I adore all the texture going on too.  The rug and log stool lend the perfect textural balance to the pouff, acrylic coffee table, and pretty flowers.  Brilliant.

What tricks do you have for styling around the fireplace?  I am always looking for new ideas.

  2. I love all of these! We're building a house & I have a room I want to put an old mantel in, but there will be no fireplace. Great ideas!

  4. Oh how I wish I had a fireplace to decorate. I know that if I did I'd use the tiny chairs in the last photo for inspiration.

  5. I've always used white birch logs...but this post has me thinking of being a little more creative. Magnolia branches? I would love to see what you did with those and how you ued them.

  6. Hmm. Now you've got me thinking about different ways to transition the fireplace into spring and summer. I filled mine with a huge fern last year, but I don't think it got enough light. Poor thing nearly died and now lives outside. Love that last image with the two little chairs hanging out in front.
