When I mentioned last week that I was working on a masculine office space for someone near and dear to me, a couple of you guessed who the space is for. My husband recently took a new job allowing him to work from home and we are over the moon excited to have him here! He filled out one of my client questionnaires because I really do want this to be his space.
In the questionnaire, he stated that he would like for his office to be warm and cozy and to include a gallery wall with family photos.
We sampled a couple of grays that we already had on hand and also tried Sherwin Williams Intellectual Gray. Intellectual Gray won hands down over the others.
We are also in the early stages of creating a collected gallery wall. We might replace a few of the images with more current ones and add many more to fill in the wall. So be prepared to this change a few times.
I have always loved this image from Martha Stewart and will most likely re-work the symmetrical look that we have now with something more like this.
If you are new to my blog, the pillows came from my wonderful sponsor, Fabulous But Frugal where you will find designer pillows for less. They even take custom orders so be sure to add them to your pillow resource list.
Monday, I ordered this pouf from Joss & Main for my office. It arrived Wednesday - talk about fast - and I am just trying it out here in Rick's office. Even though I like the quirky vibe it adds to the Queen Ann loveseat, I think I will have to claim this one for myself!
Have a great weekend and as always, thank you for taking the time to stop by Cottage and Vine!

Wow, it is looking lovely already. I love the idea of the grey on the walls. I find it really hard to find one that is not too dark, too blue etc. The pouf is so adorable I can understand you wanting to move that out of there. Looks great René, you have such good taste! I love the gallery wall idea too. I have started one in our basement family wall along the same idea. It just makes the space so complete.
ReplyDeleteit is looking fabulous! love the color the pillows bring, and LOVE THE POUF!
ReplyDeleteI love the QA seating... and congrats to you and your husband! It's obvious you're excited to nurture his career and creativity. Best of luck to you both!
ReplyDeleteI love that he filled out a questionnaire! It's looking really good! AND that was a super fast delivery! I'll keep that in mind! Can't wait to see more of his office.
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend!

This is going to be a perfect Man's office...love where it is going. How wonderful to have your husband working from home, congrats!
ReplyDeleteOh, I am loving where this is headed so far, Rene! I knew the room must be for your hubby. How awesome to have him home! And how perfect is that inspiration image? I am also into those bolsters and have been wanting/needing some for a while for my daybed. I'm going to have to check out FBF today.
ReplyDeleteAlready looking great Rene...love that wall color and the gallery wall....very nice :)
ReplyDeleteHave a good one...

That is a wonderful opportunity for your hubby to work from home. And he seems to be quite in tune with his wants for the office - great client! Love that pouf in the dark leather! Have a great weekend Rene!
ReplyDeleteRene, wow - love it already! The fact that your husband likes the camelback sofa - man, oh, man. I have to ask my husband if that is something he would allow me to put into his office!! And, the pouf adds a nice twist! Can't wait to see more!!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking loveseat with the black frames. I like! And while I know you're going to claim the pouf, it does add a nice eclectic feel to your hubs's office. Can't wait to see how this room evolves.
ReplyDeleteSo excited for you!
ReplyDeleteThis is looking great Rene. Love the pictures and the pouf adds some whimsy. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your husband; enjoy having him around to eat lunch with you! (That's the best part as far as I'm concerned.) Look forward to seeing his "masculine office" come together - the gallery wall looks great!
ReplyDeleteExciting changes! I love to mix it up.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!!

Looks like you are off to a great start with his "client request"...My hubby works from home too and I love it..
ReplyDeleteLove the poof...I would have taken for myself too!
Love that loveseat! You're off to a great start! Your husband's so lucky to have you making the perfect masculine work space for him. Looking forward to see the space unfold.
ReplyDeleteLooks great! Hope you are having a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteGreat color. It seems like Sherwin Williams is a favorite south of the Mason-Dixon. I don't think I've seen it anywhere around here although I haven't looked.
ReplyDeleteThose galleries walls are really difficult I think. But looking at that photo, I can see three places where they've established order by lining up the edges of the frames at least half way across the arrangement. There's one right down the center that's broken at the last row, one that moves from right to left about 1/3 of the way down, and one from left to right about 3/4 of the way down. I'll have to look at others and see of they have that same underlying framework of order.
How wonderful to have him in the home now. And so cute that he filled out the questionnaire! I love that. I am sure the space will be amazing. Such a fun sofa.
ReplyDeleteA great space, Rene. I love that couch and the fabric on it - so much texture and shades of brown. The SW color looks good on the walls. I do like an asymmetrical gallery wall - it adds movement.
ReplyDeleteI have used that color so many times....one of my favorites. By the way...if my husband started working from home...it would not be long before he was on the back of a milk carton "missing"....just saying.....
