Last week was 100% relaxing and I soaked up every second making me ready to jump back in the saddle. I did not take a computer, but managed to check out pinterest occasionally on my phone. Hopefully I can catch up on my favorite blogs soon. I feel so outta touch. The only downside of unplugging on vacation is that my inbox had 300+ emails when I got home. How do you feel about unplugging - is it a good thing or a bad thing?
Vacations are special family times for us and while we were away it suddenly became apparent that our oldest son only has 2 more spring breaks before he graduates from high school. What the what? Needless to say I took a lot of pictures, but I won't bore you with all of them. Here are just a few...
We love hiking and make it a point to do a little climbing each time we go to the desert. It is always an adventure.
Rick and I would sneak in an early walk down the greenway before the golfers in the morning to have a peek at the pretty homes. Rumor has it that Clint Eastwood lives in this area. Hmmm...
I have a weakness for self serve frozen yogurt so we had to make an emergency stop. If you are curious - anything chocolate with mini dark chocolate chips.
It snowed in the mountains the night before we left. It always amazes me to feel the hot desert air and to see the snow covered mountains off in the distance.
Okie doke...now for a big ole' reality check. Appointments, lax & swim practice, groceries, work, laundry, schedules. Boo.

I think you have to unplug when you go away with family. Precious Moments! Beautifil scenery there!
ReplyDeleteit looks amazing!!! you look fabulous, too! how fast our kids grow up.
ReplyDeleteRene, that sounds like the perfect family vacation - so glad you enjoyed your trip and unplugging!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures! So glad you were able to have a break. I bet you will have a very productive week!
ReplyDeleteYou two couldn't look cuter or more relaxed! Your boys are looking too grown up! Don't you love that cool black sock trend?
ReplyDeleteI agree...no computer, just too tempting!
With scenery like that, no wonder you chose to unplug entirely! So no Clint sightings?
ReplyDeleteGlad to have you back, Rene.

We all need to unplug more! Looks like you had a beautiful trip :)
ReplyDeleteRene you are so smart to unplug for your family vacation...the time goes so fast, you don't want to miss it. Looks like you had good weather...so glad you had a good trip! (I just got home from there last night myself from a great golf weekend...always miss it when I leave!)
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
You guys are so so cute. I am so happy you enjoyed it so much. I unplug more and more . . .but yes! Totally pay for it. It never takes too long to feel back in the loop and obviously family is most important. But I hear ya! It's a bit of a challenge. Love that cartoon! Pretty sure the original source was my mom ;)
ReplyDeleteI wrote this same sort of post last week upon our return from Hawaii! I LOVE unplugged time with my growing-up-too-fast kiddos!

You are looking way too cute in your running shorts!
ReplyDeleteTime does fly. My oldest is in his last year of High School so this might have been our last spring break. Still hard to believe.
What a beautiful family you have! I'm sure they enjoyed having your undivided attention while on vacation. Really enjoyed seeing your photos.
ReplyDeleteI'm a lurker here at your blog. I love your posts on decorating. These photos are beautiful.

You can send the ones they have or make your own. Some are pretty funny others are a bit tongue in cheek.
Thank you for all of your sweet comments! It is good to be back ;)
ReplyDeleteXO,
René

I was in the mountains too last week! I need to get my photos sorted but there is nothing more beautiful than the mountains. :) Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun time and how darling do you look in all the photos! Your hubby looks familiar to me. Does he work in the furniture biz?
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, Rene! I'm so glad you got some downtime and quality family time. Beautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful vacation - you and your hubs are adorable. He kind of looks like Phil Mickelson when you look quick (does he ever get that?) I visited Rancho Mirage when I was in college and it was beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou look so happy and relaxed, so good to get away with family, they grow up so quickly! Looking at your holiday glow, I'm realizing how much my family need a holiday! Must start planning! Like you I will in-plug!!
