Master Bedroom Retreat

Before spring break, I completed a mood board for a new client.  She wanted the room to reflect her personal style while using the furniture she already owned.  A few of the things on the wish list were 1) a lighter paint color 2) a functional office space and desk chair 3) new bedding 4) curtains 5) artwork 6) family photo wall 7) chandelier.  All of this was to be done on a strict budget.  Honestly, I love challenges like this because I believe that you do not need to spend a fortune to achieve the look you want.  My client also had several pretty antiques in the room and wanted to paint one of them a fresh color.

Here is the mood board I created for the space...
My client asked that I not share the before pictures, but she does plan to share pictures once the room is finished.  I am looking so forward to seeing this mood board come to life!

Cottage and Gardens

Here is the inspiration image for the gallery wall.  My client's headboard is traditional with caning detail.  It is also curved which will work well with a randomly placed frame arrangement.

  2. Ha! I can relate with not wanting to share before photos! Your board captures such a nice mix, the abstracts are my favorite, what a lively and sophisticated burst of color.

  5. Lovely room! I can't wait to see the gallery wall with that caned headboard!

Also like the quote at the end of your post. We've been in our house three years now and it's just finally starting to feel personalized... Why? Because I'm finally working my way out of fear of messing up and moving forward with some ideas in my head. It's fun!

  9. Before shots can be scary.....even at my house. Love the board, especially the soft background colors. And of course the black framed gallery wall will really ground the room.
