Do you ever find yourself migrating toward a certain color combination? I do. And it changes
often every day. One combination I never tire of though is warm neutrals. Particularly gold/yellow with browns and blacks. I'm not going to bore you with a whole bunch of commentary on how the rooms work. But, I think you will see that they do. Winning game plan: Be generous with creams and white. Let your accent color come from an organic element such as flowers or greenery. Sprinkle in lots of texture and you have a masterpiece.

What do you think - yay or nay? Better yet...do you have a color combination you keep going back to?
Every time i see one of these neutral spaces - i think "I want that!" and then I try it, and i live with it for about 2 months before i have to paint some color back on the walls - which is what i'm going thru right now in my dining room. I guess I'm not "trendy" LOL. These rooms are gorgeous though.....
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain Sheri. Color-o-rama is what goes on here. I see these rooms as more classic than trendy though, no?
ReplyDeleteThis is too funny! I am literaly taking a break from painting our living room "Creamy" by Sherman Williams as I type. I love neutral spaces and finally took the leap!
ReplyDeleteSo soothing. Really love that last one from Cottage Living - oh how I miss that mag!
ReplyDeleteI love these rooms. Every so often I want to inject bold bits of color, but I am always drawn to the calming beauty of these neutral rooms.
ReplyDeletePerfect timing with this post-I'm trying to figure out how to pull together my master with just this color scheme. Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteFirst, let me say that you could never, never bore me with your commentary. As someone who does not have an instinctive decorating touch, I rely on the advise of people who really know what they are doing. I love the rooms you show. These are wonderful. Please keep the commentary coming.
ReplyDeletei LOVE warm neutrals! I just can't seem to jump on the "cool grays" bandwagon...
ReplyDeleteI just painted my Master Bedroom a rich chocolate brown and used golds and creams to bring it all together. I love that it's rich and cozy while still neutral!
I love this color combo too. So classic and timeless and adding a hint of black makes it feel rich. I love adding a hint of green in every room, brings the outside in. Great post and you may have convinced me to paint my family room cream. I had been on the fence.
ReplyDeleteI think these rooms are all timeless and was getting warmed up to this look and bam! color is back and I have to say I love color!!! My mom's house looks like this and it is very soothing...
ReplyDeleteAlways love a space with mostly neutrals. Easy to live with. To me a room where you can change the whole vibe by changing out pillows, throws, etc is a perfect room. Otherwise I would get too bored. Great post :)
ReplyDeleteI love neutrals too. So relaxing:)
ReplyDeleteI love warm neutrals! Jute, sisal or seagrass rugs are one of my favorite ways to bring them into a room.
ReplyDeleteHaha! It's too funny that you should ask that question today! My last two posts are completely the same colour scheme. :)
ReplyDeleteI love neutrals too. So warm, and inviting. I try and keep mostly to that in my own house.
I'm digging it too. Neutrals are my first love. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the look of these rooms. I never tire of neutrals--with plenty of contrast of course!
ReplyDeleteI've got nothing to say, Rene, but AMEN!
ReplyDeleteNow I have to go and read your recipe again.
