Hi there. In case you want to know a little more about me...
As a child...
I grew up as an only child in a small southern town. My love of decorating began at an early age when I could often be found making art for my room, rearranging furniture, and organizing closets for fun. I'm sure it drove my parents crazy, but my creative spirit is a product of my upbringing. I used to spend hours by Dad's side as he made period reproduction furniture, framed pictures, and graded interior design papers. I watched, learned, and probably asked too many questions. I also studied Mom's every move as she gardened, decorated, and kept house; learning all the while. My parents planted a creative seed in me that made me the person I am.
College & Career...
My degree is in fashion and textiles. I spent 6 years working in the industry before my husband and I started our family. We met in college, by the way. As time went on and as friends asked for help, I would take on interior decorating jobs here and there - which was my passion all along. Two years ago, my husband suggested that I start a blog. Smart guy. I have met so many talented and kind people and have been more inspired than I could have ever imagined. Blogging has put me in touch with other people who love interiors as much as I do. The blog itself has lead to many opportunities and friendships. It feels like home.
Here we are...
Fast forward to now and you will find me writing a blog, managing a decorating business, and creating and buying items for my store. You probably noticed those handsome guys in the picture. From left to right they are: my husband and voice of reason, our youngest son, the creative entrepreneur, and our oldest son who's mantra is "eat, sleep, swim".
